*John Michael & Amee* San Diego Wedding Photography, Junipero Serra Museum

I’ve been thinking a lot about journeys lately. About how journeys can be scary, difficult, yet exhilarating at the same time. I don’t believe that life is one big journey, on the contrary, I think that life is full of journeys, little adventures that get placed on our path to keep us, well…alive.
Often times, the most challenging part of the journey is taking that first step onto the unknown path. I’m sure that this doesn’t apply to all, but for me, I know that I am chicken. I am terrified of venturing into new journeys that I am presented in life. I get very excited about them, I talk about them in great detail to anyone who will listen, but when it comes down to actually beginning, I freak out.
Case and point, my photography. I absolutely LOVE photography, a friend even told me recently that I NEED photography in my life. He said that for me, my photography is like breathing fresh air. But actually putting my mind to beginning to do photography as a living, terrified me to no end. Photography for me is a journey that I am thrilled about, it is something that I enjoy with every nerve in my body. It’s something that I do because I love love love it. But honestly, I would never ever have been able to start it, if not for the man who held my hand as I took my first step.
Mario, my best friend, my husband, father of my child, president of the Lindsay C fan club, head cheerleader for the Lindsay C team. His love and encouragement gave me the guts to take the step onto my new path. He is on this journey with me, and because of that, I am less afraid.
It is my hope that everyone in the world is able to find that someone to hold your hand during your journeys. There is something so magical when one hand clasps another and you get an overwhelming feeling that everything will be okay.
Not too long ago, I got to be present when a couple departed on a journey together. Amee and John Michael wed on November 6th in a simple, yet meaningful ceremony in gorgeous San Diego, California.

Amee is a no muss no fuss type of gal, yet every detail of her special day with John Michael was perfect.

She was surrounded by women who love and support her.

Amee was nothing short of breathtaking as she prepared herself to start her journey with John Michael.

I remember my wedding day clearly, and I don’t remember being calm, cool, and collected. Amee and John Michael, were the epitome of calm, cool, collected. They were there to enjoy each other and nothing else really mattered, but that.

The simple, yet beautiful ceremony took place at the Junipero Serra Museum. Gorgeous. Quaint. Photogenic. Amazing.

Both Amee and John Michael were in the United States Navy, as were, obviously, a few members of their bridal party. Their friends were so much fun, they were lively and up for anything. It was so clear that this bunch has had some of the best times together.

I loved that Amee chose such bold bright colors for her girl’s dresses and flowers. It reflected their vibrant personalities and relationship with Amee.

One of my favorites to leave you with.

Amee and John Michael, thank you a thousand times for allowing me to capture these special memories for you both. Enjoy this journey and the many more to come. I hope that you are each others’ number one fan, and the guide that holds on tight during the adventures and journeys to come. Congratulations!
